Rosh Hashannah Collapse

The Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashannah, was on September 13. The Mets were 7 games up at that time. The Mets finished the season 5-12 and lost the division. On the final homestand this past week the Mets choked going just 1-6. I guess Green, Schoe, and Newhan forgot to go to temple.

Si.com writes that the mets odds were 499-to-1 against that they would make the playoffs. The Mets' playoff probability peaked at 99.80 percent after the action of Sept. 12, when they held a 7-game lead over the Phillies with 16 games to play, and some favorable wild-card permutations as a backup.
