Estrada catcher? New deal for Bedard and Hernandez

In a recent post, I suggested the trade of Ramon Hernandez and Erik Bedard for Lastings Milledge, Carlos Gomez, Fernando Martinez, Mike Pelfrey, Kevin Mulvey and or Phillip Humber, Mike Carp and (maybe Ruben Gotay). The Mets traded away Mota (good riddance) and acquired catcher Johnny Estrada. In my opinion, Estrada is not good the best option for the Mets. He puts up pretty good numbers at the plate but is poor defensively giving the Mets a platoon of two good hitting but poor defensive catchers in Castro and Estrada. If the Mets want a hitting catcher they might as well go after Hernandez on the orioles.

I have looked over my suggested trade and believe I had given the O’s way to many players. The new trade would be Milledge, Gomez or Martinez, Pelfrey, Humber or Mulvey, and Gotay.

That is a HUGE trade.

The O's would incur too many players / eventual payroll to take all of them.

It's still way too many players for the O's! Who the hell is Hernandez now... the 2nd comming of Johnny Bench?!? Look< first off the Mets should forget about geting Santana, its just not gonna happen. 2nd, The A's Haran is much more doable and prob for only 3 in return....then and only then should the Mets turn to the O's for Bedard and Hernandez, or at least Bedard. Yes?

You're still giving up way to much!
