The New Orleans Zephyrs have announced their Opening Day roster. The 2007 edition includes pitcher Chan Ho Park, catcher Sandy Alomar and former Zephyrs infielder Jason Alfaro. Park, a right-handed pitcher, has played 13 seasons in the big leagues, most notable with the Los Angeles Dodgers from 1994-2001. He has won a combined 113 games as a major league pitcher. In his rookie season in 1990, Alomar was the American League Rookie of the Year and won a Gold Glove award as a member of the Cleveland Indians. Alomar has played parts of 18 seasons in the major leagues. 2007 will be his first year in the Mets organization.
Alfaro played for the Zephyrs in 2003 and 2004 while a member of the Houston Astros organization. In 2004 Alfaro played in 126 games for the Zephyrs, batting .325 with 13 home runs and 67 RBI. Alfaro's 151 hits that year ranks him 5th all-time in Zephyrs history for hits in a single season.
